Wovenwar (ex-As I Lay Dying) Stream Debut Album in Full
The path to Wovenwar's self-titled debut album has been a strange one. After the implosion of As I Lay Dying due to vocalist Tim Lambesis' murder-for-hire arrest and later conviction, the remaining AILD members moved on under a new name. Finally, the 'Wovenwar' album has hit, and it's available for streaming in full.
In a shocking and disturbing piece of news, Lambesis attempted to hire a hitman to murder his wife Meggan. However, the hitman turned out to be an undercover cop. After charges were filed and Lambesis served a lengthy stint on house arrest, the vocalist was given six years in prison. Very soon after Lambesis' sentencing, Wovenwar announced its birth.
Wovenwar are now finally able to enjoy the fruits of their labor, finishing off their tour with Black Label Society and Kyng tonight (Aug. 4) in Albuquerque, N.M. Fans have been experiencing Wovenwar's new tunes live, but you can now hear all 15 tracks from Wovenwar's debut album.
”When you invest yourselves in something for over 10 years, you’re building a career and you’re developing a sound that everyone associates you with," says guitarist Nick Hipa, "but to move on in the same vein with a different person, I felt like would have forced that new project to always live in the shadow of the old.”
