If you’re a pet owner, you know how important pets are in the family. A British woman thinks so highly of her bearded dragon that she actually postponed her wedding in order to give her bearded dragon chemotherapy.

George, the bearded dragon in question, had tumors on his face. Lizzie Griffiths had to choose between the lizard and her wedding, and the lizard won in the end. She shelled out $4,700 for treatments, and now George is in remission.

The procedure was an amazing success, and Griffiths is clearly happy with the result. Unfortunately, it means that she doesn’t have money for a wedding now. It doesn’t seem to bother her too much, though.

“George will always come first.” Griffiths told the Sun. "I fell in love with George the minute I saw him and knew I'd do anything to look after him properly."

Her fiance is an understanding man and sees that Griffiths has a soft spot for the lizard, so he’s okay with it, but I don’t know that I’d be okay with my fiance saying that the lizard would always come first.

How far would you go to save a pet?
