The Wichita Falls Wildcats hockey team secured their first ever playoff series win against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on Friday night, advancing to the second round in the chase for the Robertson Cup.

The 'Cats battled from 2 goals down, scoring 3 in the third, to get the series sweep on Friday night at the Kay Yeager coliseum. A slap shot by Colin Staub just minutes into the third period gave Wichita Falls their first lead of the night. The 'Cats would skate on to a 5-4 win, moving them into the NAHL South semifinals against Topeka starting April 10 in Kansas.

The upcoming series against the Topeka Roadrunners will be a best-of-five series with Topeka hosting the first two games. The Wildcats will host games 3 and 4 (if necessary) in Wichita Falls on April 13-14. Tickets for games 3 & 4 will be on sale at the KYC box office or by calling 940-716-5555.
