Get the brooms out because your Wichita Falls Wildcats just sweeped Topeka out of the playoffs.

The Wildcats went into Topeka with a 2-0 series lead. A win for the Wildcats meant they would advance to the next round. It was not an easy win for the Wildcats. It was the longest game in Wildcats history. It took double overtime to decide the winner in this game.

After 94 minutes and 15 seconds, André Pison backhanded a shot to get the team their much-needed goal to win the series. Congratulations to the Wichita Falls Wildcats on clinching their first Robertson Cup Semi-Finals appearance in team history.

Unfortunately, we do not know who the Wildcats will be facing in the next round yet. Game 1 of the third round will be played at Braemar Arena in Edina, Minnesota on Thursday, May 12th.

Good luck to the Wildcats in the next round and have fun on the road. Texas hockey teams have played well in Minnesota the past couple of weeks. First, the Dallas Stars eliminate the Wild, now your guys turn to show Minnesota how we play hockey in Texas.
