Wichita Falls police officers were working the scene of a one-car accident just after midnight Friday (12/4) at the intersection of Southwest Parkway and University when a truck struck the back of a police vehicle.

The unoccupied WFPD patrol vehicle with emergency lights activated was being used to divert traffic around the initial accident scene.

A white Dodge Ram pickup, driven by 23-year-old Dennis Roeder, was traveling westbound on Southwest Parkway. Roeder failed to move over and struck the police unit.

Following an on scene investigation and field sobriety testing, Roeder was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Wichita County Jail.

No injuries were reported and the area was cleared without any further incidents.
