White Stripes Retire
The White Stripes have posted a letter on their website saying the band is over. Check out the quote:
Meg and Jack want to thank every one of their fans and admirers for the incredible support they have given throughout the 13 plus years of the White Stripes’ intense and incredible career.

Kind of a bummer, but I kind of respect it too. Instead of dragging it down to where it means little to nothing, it’s kind of cool to say, “that’s good, let’s quit while we’re ahead”. The band stressed in the letter that there were no real problems, they just decided not to do it anymore.
