Now that the holidays are coming to a close, a lot of people are cleaning up. The ornaments are being tucked away carefully and wrapping paper is gone, but what do you do with that tree? The city does NOT provide curb side pickup, so you’ll need to plan ahead. The drops are great for the city because the trees get ground up and are used as mulch throughout our parks. Here are a few places you can take your Christmas tree in the Wichita falls area!

There are four locations to choose from:

Lucy Park – This location is open 24 hours. You can find Lucy Park on Sunset Lane off of Seymour Highway, and the drop is at the back of the park near the tree farm.

Kiwanis Park – Also open 24 hours, you can find this site at 4400 Southwest Parkway. The drop-off is next to the Parks Maintenance Building at the entrance of the park.

City Transfer Station – Located at 3200 Lawrence Road, you can drop off your trees Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am – 5:00pm.

City Landfill – Head to 10984 Wiley Road between the hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday.

Make sure your tree is in acceptable shape before you drag it out of your house. You must strip your tree of all tree stands, lights, and decorations, and no artificial trees will be accepted.

The drop locations at Lucy Park and Kiwanis Park will be open until January 15. After that date, residents can still drop off their trees at the City Transfer Station or the City Landfill for no charge.
