The Wichita Falls ISD will soon be searching for a news superintendent.  Dr. John Frossard has been named the lone finalist of the Beaumont ISD superintendent search.  Frossard has served as the WFISD superintendent since July of 2012.  He was formerly the assistant superintendent of the Fort Bend ISD.   There is a state mandated 21 day waiting period before Frossard can officially take the position in Beaumont.

In a press release from the WFISD board yesterday, Frossard expressed his feelings about the move:

Considering a potential move leaves me with mixed feelings.  I’m very proud of what our students and staff have accomplished in the past three years.  On the other hand, Beaumont has a number of challenges and their needs match well with my skills and experience.

Board President Trey Sralla wished Frossard well on the move:

His leadership in a time of major change in our district has been welcomed and appreciated…we all wish he and his family the best as they embark on a new chapter in their lives.

Beaumont ISD has been taken over by the state due to a myriad of problems.  Allegations of cheating on so-called standardized tests surfaced in 2013.  Last summer, District Judge Stephen Yelonsky replaced the Beaumont ISD board and superintendent amid evidence of severe mismanagement.  Dr. Frossard will be tasked with resolving the laundry list of issues that have plagued that district.  Sralla says an interim superintendent for the Wichita Falls ISD will be named in the coming days.
