If I was near an erupting volcano, the last thing on my mind would be filming it. Maybe I'm just being paranoid though.

The Mount Tavurvur volcano in Papua New Guinea was caught mid-eruption the other day by a family that just happened to be taking a scenic tour of the coastline.

The video is pretty amazing to watch, especially when the shock waves from the explosion ripple through the clouds a few seconds before the sonic boom.

Personally, I would have got the hell out of there at the first sign of activity from the volcano. Being swallowed by lava is not my idea of a dream vacation. But that's just me.
