Volbeat Release Lyric Video for ‘Room 24’ [VIDEO]

Volbeat has released the lyric video for their song “Room 24,” which is a collaboration with King Diamond of Mercyful Fate. Like the members of Volbeat, Diamond is also Danish. The song comes from the album Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, which hits shelves tomorrow (April 9).

Michael Poulsen, vocalist for Volbeat, was excited to work with Diamond, saying, “I'm a huge fan of Mercyful Fate and King Diamond. Having King on this record is a huge privilege. Normally, it's not something he does. He wrote his own lines and it is half my lyrics and half his. It's a weird, scary story and he's the perfect person for it."

As for the rest of the album, Poulsen says it will go in some different directions from what we’ve heard in the past, but it will still sound like the Volbeat we know:

It's not like we changed a lot, you know. People will immediately be able to hear that it's Volbeat, but I also think they will be able to hear that something new happened when it comes to the songwriting and some of the songs, you know. We definitely pushed ourselves to the limit.
