Two people found themselves in jail after a traffic stop in Wichita Falls.

At around 1:48pm on Wednesday, December 14 a WFPD K-9 Unit stopped a 2004 Chevy Impala at Kell West and Giddings.

Officers detected the odor of marijuana after making contact with the driver, 28-year-old Jacob McLaughlin. McLaughlin surrendered a bottle with a green leafy substance inside that later tested positive for marijuana.

Officers then conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

The search also yielded empty plastic baggies, two digital scales and a considerable amount of currency.

McLaughlin was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. The passenger, 24-year-old Anna Pierce, was arrested for Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

A child was also in the vehicle at the time and was taken into custody by Child Protective Services.
