Today Marks 25 Years Since The Release Of Slayer’s Thrash Masterpiece “Reign In Blood” [VIDEO]

There's not much I can say about Reign In Blood that hasn't already been said so I'll just say that to this day I still remember the way that album made me feel the first time I heard it. At the time, Slayer was one of the heaviest bands on the planet and scary as hell to a country boy from Vernon, Texas.

I grew up in a Christian household and listened to all the "damned to hell" rants at church in reference to bands like Slayer, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, blah blah blah and when I would listen to those bands it was like a guilty pleasure for me. But Slayer was the ultimate when it came to blasphemy and Reign In Blood was the album that reinforced their position as the thrash kings of evil.

Even though I've become pretty numb to blasphemous metal over the years I can still appreciate the atmospheric and musical perfection of Reign In Blood. Soooo...sit back, crack one open and crank it!
