Thousand Foot Krutch are gearing up for the release of their forthcoming album Exhale on June 17. We recently had the chance to play a quick game of ‘Would You Rather?’ with the band’s vocalist Trevor McNevan, who talks about his admiration for fans, being an independent artist and why he would want to have lunch with Johnny Cash and Marilyn Manson if he could. Check out our latest installment of ‘Would You Rather?’ with Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch below!

Would you rather be really late for the show or mess up onstage?

I would rather mess up onstage, I just feel like that’s bound to happen. [Laughs] I don’t know, I feel like I would be letting everybody down if I was late to a show.

Would you rather be in the studio or on tour?

Wow that’s a good one. I don’t even know if I can answer that. I love them both for different reasons – I song write for a living, outside of the band for other artists so I love the studio and love that life but there’s nothing better – I guess I’m answering your question – there’s nothing better than to live life with people who support music and do what we love, that hour we get to put it out all onstage, that’s our heart.

Would you rather have an accordion for legs or a drum sticks for hands?

[Laughs] I got to go with drumsticks for hands because I tap on everything. People think I’m a drummer but I’m just a guy who taps on stuff. Can I have one drumstick hand and one accordion leg? Let’s go lay down the tracks.

Would you rather have a massive bank account or a massive fanbase?

This would be the cliché answer but a massive fanbase. We went 100 percent independent five years ago after being with EMI. There’s just something so special about doing this together with people. We’re music fans who support music and they support us so it’s just a very mutual respect. It’s not about money. We didn't get into this for that reason. It doesn’t mean anything to us then and it doesn’t mean a thing to us now.

Would you rather have lunch with a music icon who has passed or a future music icon?

I would say Johnny Cash, when I think about music there are few people that just seem like – obviously they’re great at what they do but they’re also interesting people. Marilyn Manson is another one of those dudes, not for any other reason than he intrigues me. I would look forward to that conversation.

Our thanks to Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch for the interview! 'Exhale' arrives on June 17 and pre-orders for the album begin April 29. Look for the band on tour at these stops.
