The summer hit of 2013 is stretching the Sharknado franchise into 2015! Even though the second film, Sharknado 2: The Second One, hasn’t been released yet, the Syfy Network has announced that a third installment is in the works.

If you didn’t have the chance to see the glory that was Sharknado, it is my recommendation that you get your hands on the film and watch it. Immediately. The acting was horrendous, the effects were terrible, and the plot was a virtual mine field of inaccuracy, yet the film held a certain charm that views (including me) were drawn to. You’ll never get that time back in your life, but it’s a movie you can’t miss. Featuring Tara Reid and Ian Ziering, the title tells you all you need to know: sharks + tornadoes = a bad day.

The second installment is based in New York City, with Reid and Ziering reprising their roles. Other celebs to join the cast are Vivica A. Fox and Mark McGrath. It will make its television debut on July 31 at 9/8c.

At this time we don’t know much about Sharknado 3, but we’re sure to see another city’s skies filled with flying sharks and plenty of bloodshed.

If you can’t get enough of the original film, mark July 10 and 15on your calendar. The film will be shown in theaters on both dates and will be riffed by RiffTrax. In the meantime I’ll leave you with a trailer for the first film.
