A pizza delivery guy in New York learned the hard way that faking a murder isn't the best excuse to get you out of work.

18-year-old Mason Requa was on the job Wednesday night delivering pizza all over town when he realized that he was running late for his deliveries. In fact he was running so late that he was worried his boss would fire him.

So he came up with what he thought was a rock solid excuse for being late.

He called the cops, which would be mistake number one, and reported that he had just witnessed three Hispanic men with a machete behead a seven-year-old girl. Remember he's in New York, not Mexico, so this would be highly unlikely.

But apparently he went into so much detail that the police believed him and showed up on the scene to begin searching for the men a few minutes later.

of course they didn't find them and after four hours, the delivery boy finally admitted that he had made the whole thing up so he would have an excuse for being late.

Police arrested Requa and charged him with falsely submitting an incident. The funny thing is that there is no word whether or not his excuse worked, but let's just assumed he's been fired.
