The 27-year-old Lufkin man was apprehended after hour-long chase that reached speeds over 100 mph.

KTRE reports that the pursuit included eight law enforcement agencies and covered three counties. Suspect Richard Kay was arrested after troopers shot out two of his tires and the radiator of his pickup truck.

Authorities told KTRE that at some point during the chase he threw chainsaws at the pursuing police officers. The chainsaws were believed to have been stolen in a home burglary.

The chase initially started when the police tried to pull over Kay for speeding.

Kay is currently in custody. No word on what charges are being brought against him.
