While I'm a bigger fan of videos with a bit of a storyline, I have no problem with a bunch of dudes cramming into a small room and throwing down properly. Sometimes that is all that's necessary to get the point across and that's the case with Pathology's new video for "Tyrannical Decay".

I caught up with Pathology bassist Oscar Ramirez on the October 1 edition of The Oath.

I'm pretty new to Pathology therefore so is anyone relying on me to get their metal. Oscar turned out to be a great interview and we talked a little about the history of the band, the new album Awaken To The Suffering and the band's influences among other things.

Add Pathology to the list of new bands I'm diggin' these days. I'm not typically a fan of uber-guttural vocal styles but for whatever reason Jonathan Huber's vocals appeal to me. Pathology plays a brand of new school death metal more akin to Cattle Decapitation than say Suicide Silence or Whitechapel in that it's heavy on the blasting and light on the breakdowns and you know some good ol' brutality gets me every time
