High on Fire have begun work on the follow-up to 2012's 'De Vermis Mysteriis.' The as-yet-untitled album is expected to see a winter 2015 release date via eOne Music.
It's no secret that High On Fire main man Matt Pike likes to go hard when it comes to drinking but apparently the time has come for him to make an attempt to give it up.
You would think that at some point I'd get used to artists streaming their albums in advance of the release date since 90% of bands do that these days but you would be wrong...I'm still like a kid in a candy store when a new album hits the ol' interwebs.
Ah yes, the time draws near for what is always a big friggin' deal around these digs - new High On Fire.
After having finally seen the band at SXSW this year I'm even that much more stoked for the new album De Vermis Mysteriis, out April 3 on eOne Records.
I absolutely love me some High On Fire and I'm never one to waste time picking up their albums once they hit the street. And good Lord willing and the creek don't rise I'll be picking up their new album De Vermis Mysteriis when it drops April 3 on eOne Music.
I love the internet...for the most part anyway. Yes, it kinda ruins the whole experience of picking up a new album and getting home to hear it for the first time, but it also keeps you from buying something you're not going to like. And considering I've been burned before (see Load), I'll take it.
Those of you that listen to The Oath know I'm a huge fan of High On Fire and turns out they were in Tokyo set to play the night of Friday, March 11th when the earthquake and tsunami hit. None of the guys were hurt, but they were shaken up...
