Before Axl Rose hit it big as the lead singer of Guns N' Roses he was a part of a group called Hollywood Rose. And before that, in the year 1983, he was just a kid in a little band that went by the name Rapidfire, and this is where it all began.
Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal is a firm believer in passing on his knowledge to the next generation, and he recently dropped by the Bronx, N.Y. 'Little Kids Rock' program to jam out a few songs, including the GN'R classic 'Sweet Child o' Mine' with some Mott Hall Community School kids.
Guns N' Roses are about to bring one of their best live experiences to the big screen, with some pretty awesome 3D effects thrown in for good measure. The band's 2012 residency at Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was filmed and has now been turned into a movie that will get theatrical screenings this summer. With the project nearing, the group has now offered the first extended trailer for the movie.
In what is sure to be the music news event of the year, Axl Rose has been photographed without his signature fedora! Yes, the Guns N' Roses singer has been spotted with his long red locks on full display (see the photo above).
In announcing their 'An Evening With…' concerts, Halestorm promised that fans would get a chance to see different sides of the band. On Thursday night (Dec. 27) in Philadelphia, the band got a chance to prove it, incorporating cover songs from AC/DC, Judas Priest, Guns N' Roses, Skid Row and more into their set.
Guns N’ Roses know a thing or two about making a wedding scene, as evidenced years ago in the ‘November Rain’ video. But in real life, the group made a surprise detour in Saint-Tropez, France Saturday night playing a private wedding concert for a wealthy pal. Further making it a special night was the fact that reclusive guitarist Izzy Stradlin turned up to join his former GN’R bandmate Axl Rose for the event.
More drama surrounds Guns N’ Roses in the live realm. At GN’R's second London show at the O2 Arena last night (June 1), bassist Tommy Stinson threatened to end the gig early after fans pelted the band with money and glasses. The group took the stage nearly an hour later than scheduled, which likely sparked the fans’ ire.
