Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian was forced to sit out of last night’s (Jan. 26) show in Kansas City, Mo., after taking ill. Filling in for Ian at the show were the two guitarists Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson from co-headliners Testament, as well as musicians from Death Angel who all switched off during different songs throughout Anthrax’s set.
The lineup for the second annual DimeBash has been announced. The show is a tribute to the late, great guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott, who tragically was gunned down seven years ago today, Dec. 8, in Ohio while doing what he loved most: playing guitar. He was performing with his post-Pantera band Damageplan when a disturbed fan opened fire at close range and shot him.
VH1 Classic has affirmed its commitment to metal with ‘That Metal Show’ going strong for nine seasons and the newly launched ‘Metal Evolution’ documentary which is now airing each Saturday night, taking an anthropological look at the genesis and development of the genre. Now, the network has announced that it will dip into the vault and air ‘Behind the Music Remastered: Anthrax‘ on Dec. 3 at 9 PM ET.
Ex-Black Flag and Rollins Band frontman Henry Rollins has recruited Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and members of Rob Zombie‘s band, including guitarist John 5, for a benefit concert Nov. 30 at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood, Calif.
Anthrax frontman Joey Belladonna was attacked during an Oct. 22 show at L.A.’s Club Nokia while on tour to support the band’s new album ‘Worship Music.’ In an interview with Metal Assault, Belladonna commented on the incident.

Life is good for Anthrax these days - the Big Four of thrash just played their hometown at the home of their beloved Yankees (suck), The Bronx declared last Wednesday "Anthrax Day" and oh yeah...the band just released their first full-length album with Joey Belladonna out front since 1990's Persistence Of Time to some damn good reviews.
Yeah I know I've been pretty vocal about my disappointment in the Big Four of thrash (that would be Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax if you're either a) are a noob or b) live under a rock) not playing in Texas but that doesn't mean I've given up hope or won't pass along some of the goodness of last night's show in New York City.
Scott Ian, Frank Bello and Charlie Benante were interviewed on Fox News earlier today and it appeared they're genuinely pumped and rejuvenated with the return of vocalist Joey Belladonna and the release of the new album Worship Music tomorrow.
