Stone Temple Pilots may have replaced their lead singer with Linkin Park's Chester Bennington earlier this year but this band isn't letting anything slow them down. They have just released their second song with Bennington, titled "Black Heart" which is currently available for streaming online via iHeartRadio. The first single, "Out of Time," topped the Mainstream Rock charts and with luck so will the group's latest release. Bennington told Fuse News about writing with STP, saying "Naturally, there's gonna be a difference in terms of how I interpret what the band puts together musically. I think that's one of the reasons why we're so eager to get the EP out . . . there's definitely a vibe in that EP that is fresh and it's new but it still feels very STP."

Both songs are taken from the bands upcoming EP High Rise, which will be hitting stores October 8. When asked how the change in STP's lineup compared to bands like Van Halen, who changed singers from David Lee Roth to Sammy Hagar, guitarist Dean DeLeo said "The real beauty of it is that when Dave left and Sam came along, people who love them had the beauty of listening to Dave's new stuff, Eddie and Sammy and Michael and Alex were doing their thing, and the same thing kind of resonates here, you know. Scott's moving forward with making music, we wish him the absolute very best, and, you know, people who really love him can still listen to him and his music that he puts forth."

Stone Temple Pilots are currently on the road with Filter as part of a North American Tour that sweeps through Texas hitting Midland on September 24 (4 1/2 hour drive) and Bagwell on November 2 (3 1/2 hour drive). You see the rest of their tour dates on their website.
