A couple of weeks ago, the State Fair of Texas announced the finalists for this year's Big Tex Choice awards and we now have the results.

Winning the award for best tasting was Ruth Hauntz for her fried Jell-O. The treat is made up of classic cherry Jell-O wrapped up in a panko-crusted breading, fried to perfection and then dusted with powdered sugar.

Taking home the prize in the most creative category was Isaac Rousso's cookie fries. His idea was to take a traditional cookie and cut it in the shape of crinkle-cut fries and and serve 'em up with milk chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce in lieu of ketchup.

Congrats to the winners and we have to admit, we're already licking our chops at the thought of what kind of over-the-top deep fried treats await us at next year's State Fair.
