Sponge have returned with a new album, Stop the Bleeding, and today I'll spotlight the first single from the disc, 'Come in From the Rain'.

Like their hometown of Detroit, Sponge soldier on in these tough times and it's obvious to me that the title of the new record is a reference to how tough it is to continue in a business that isn't nearly as financially rewarding as it was when Sponge first broke through with 1994's Rotting Pinada. Gotta give it to 'em though - a lot of bands would've hung it up by now but Sponge are nothing less than resilient.

'Come in From the Rain' is a big, powerful tune with heartfelt vocals that really stand out in what is a very modern, polished mix. It's a song that I personally can see a lot of listeners getting into but I've been wrong more than once, so give it a listen and let me know if you think we should crank it or yank it.
