The Smashing Pumpkins will soon be back in action, launching their 2013 World Tour at the Cumbre Tajin Festival in Mexico on March 23. The band will be promoting their 2012 effort, 'Oceania,' and they've got a few tricks up their sleeves for the forthcoming tour.

The group has teamed with Sean Evans, who also worked with the band on last year's run, to create an intriguing visual aspect to the shows. Evans, who most recently worked with Roger Waters on 'The Wall' tour staging, has introduced a new technology called video-mapping to provide the unique visuals that will accompany them on select dates during their trek.

The U.S. portion of the tour gets underway April 29 in Melbourne, Fla. and continues through their Rock on the Range performance on May 18 in Columbus, Ohio.

Frontman Billy Corgan recently revealed that although touring continues in support of 'Oceania,' he's recently begun the writing process for their next record and envisions a 2014 release.
