Corey Taylor made the bold statement this past fall that Slipknot's upcoming album will feature one of the heaviest songs they've ever written. If you were by any means disappointed that "All Out Life" didn't live up to that standard, worry no more. Taylor recently said that that track isn't "nearly as dark and vicious as the rest of the stuff" they have brewing.

"It's gonna be evil," Taylor told the Des Moines Register. While "All Out Life" was a direct attack at the way people depend on what's current in the mainstream media, the whole album does not necessarily follow the same socio-political theme. According to Taylor, it hones in on his experiences battling depression while sober over the past few years, which resulted in a divorce and sent him on a path of self-reflection.

"That’s basically the journey I’m going to take people on this album … show them what happens to depression when you have no chemicals to fall back on...It's a pretty dark ride," he concludes.

Slipknot's new album is expected to drop this summer. They have also just been announced as one of Live Nation's 2019 Ticket to Rock artists along with Korn, Breaking Benjamin, Alice in Chains and more.
