There are over 600 million women in India (we just counted — twice). Yet, not a single one of them has ever appeared in Playboy, making the Asian nation the world’s largest untapped market for glossy airbrushed nudity. Thanks to Sherlyn Chopra, India is about to be tapped.

The 28-year-old Bollywood beauty announced in a press conference last week that she will be naked in Playboy’s November edition.

Like many great pioneers, Chopra is expected to catch grief for her trailblazing. Playboy is actually banned in India, which has harsh restriction on even softcore porn, and Indian critics have lashed out at Chopra, calling her plans to expose herself to the world “repulsive,” among other disapproving words.

But Chopra seems more worried about how she’s going to look inside the pages of the venerable men’s magazine than any disapproving remarks she’s getting from back home.

“It is not an easy task to be nude in front of the camera and look good at the same time,” Chopra explained in an interview with BBC Hindi.

That may be the case, but Chopra certainly made it look easy earlier this year when she tweeted out a series of nude photos to her followers. Check out a couple of her pics — with the naughty parts sadly blurred or obscured — below.
