Sevendust ‘Black (Acoustic)’ – Crank It or Yank It?

It's not every day that I get excited about the acoustic version of a song I've heard like, a thousand times before. Sevendust's acoustic rendition of 'Black', however, is an exception.

After checking out various live and bootleg versions of the track on the interwebs, I was ready to hear what a proper studio recording of the song would be like. And to be perfectly honest with you, the band exceeded my expectations.

The thing I like most about 'Black' is how Sevendust maintained the heaviness of the original version, while delivering a soulful performance that easily stands on it's own. No, it's not gonna make you forget about the original, but my guess is that there will be plenty of folks who actually prefer the acoustic to the electric version.
