Shocking news today as it turns out that there has been an increase in the amount of head lice cases reported among teenagers. So what's behind this increase in lice?

It turns out that selfies, were people take a picture of themselves with a handheld camera like a cell phone, are to blame.

According to lice expert Marcy McQuillan in a recent article in Time, she has seen a huge increase in teenage lice cases because more and more teens are putting their heads together to pose for a selfie.

McQuillan says that “Typically it’s younger children I treat, because they’re at higher risk for head-to-head contact. But now, teens are sticking their heads together every day to take cell phone pics,”

So how can we stop this epidemic? Well there are a few ways. We could destroy all cell phones and handheld cameras making selfies impossible, shave every teenagers head, or just teach people the real meaning of a selfie, which is a picture of just yourself.
