In case you can't get enough Slipknot side projects to fill the void in between releases, I give you 'Blood Host', the first single from drummer Joey Jordison's new band Scar the Martyr. Joining Mr. Jordison in Scar the Martyr are Jed Simon (ex-Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (ex-Darkest Hour) on guitars, along with relatively unknown frontman Henry Derek.

The song has a bit of a 90's industrial metal vibe but Joey's unmistakable drumming style gives it a little bit of a Slipknot vibe. Most fans of the 'knot are growing impatient and insist the band get together and write the follow-up to 2008's All Hope is Gone but at least someone other than Corey Taylor is committed to putting out new music  - even if it does draw the ire of the maggots.

'Blood Host' comes from Scar the Martyr's self-titled debut out October 1 on Roadrunner Records. Check it out and help us decide to either crank it or yank it.
