I’ve heard about this Broadway show, and subsequent movie for a while. I knew it had to be crap when I first heard about it, then, I saw the trailer for the movie. It’s sad because it has an amazing cast. When you see what the movie looks and sounds like though, there’s no cast in the world that could save it.

Now true this will probably “rock” for your mom and dad who still think that hair metal in the 80′s was the height of music. But for anybody that really rocks, and knows better, this is a cheese fest.

I lost it when, as you’ll see here in the trailer, Catherine Zeta-Jones who plays the conservative christian anti-rocker in the movie was having a sing off with the “rockers”. She and her group, who are the “bad guys” in the movie trying to shut down the rock club, were singing Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” while the “good guys” were singing back with Jefferson Starship’s “We Built This City”. In what world would the “good guys” of rock choose Starship over Twisted Sister? None. Ever. Period. This movie blows.
