I will be honest, I missed this moment while watching the game last night. Hopefully this doesn't bleed over into tonight.

I rarely miss a Dallas Mavericks game. Last night the Mavericks were taking on the Toronto Raptors. In the third quarter Rondo went to the bench. I thought it was just because Devon Harris, Monta Ellis and J.J. Barea were having a better night. Carlisle will always go with the hot player regardless of who was starting that night. He has a mentality of always be ready to go into the game.

Well turns out Rondo was benched for a different reason. In the third quarter Rick Carlisle was trying to get Rondo to call a timeout. Who knows if Rondo saw him and ignored him. Maybe Rondo honestly didn't see him. Carlisle had to go to mid-court pretty much to get the referees attention. Then this happened in the video seen below.

At this point in the game they Mavericks had a lot of turnovers and tensions were high. Thankfully the Mavericks came back and won the game in fourth quarter. I was unable to find video of Ricks post game press conference, but basically he said the argument is done. Now the Mavericks take on the Hawks tonight at 6:30, we will see if he is in the starting lineup.

I know I am in the very small minority on this one , but I was not a fan of the Rondo trade. I think the Mavericks gave up far too much to get him. I thought the Mavs were solid at the guard position with having Monta, Jameer Nelson, Barea, Devon Harris and Raymound Felton. I liked the system we had and they gave up Dirks backup in the trade, Brendan Wright.

Let's face it, Dirk is not getting any younger. I thought Wright was a great off the bench player and he could give Dirk rest when he needed it. Glad the Mavs picked up Amare before the trade deadline to give the Mavs a dominant backup for when Dirk goes to the bench. Once again we're going to have to see how this season pans out, but I had high hopes going in. Hopefully they don't disappoint.
