Today we test the waters with the latest from Los Angeles alt-metallers Ra.

'Supermegadubstep' is the first single from Ra's new disc, Critical Mass. The album is the first collection to feature the band's original lineup since 2002's From One, which gave Ra a taste of radio success with the hit single 'Do You Call My Name'.

Talking to Loudwire, singer Sahaj Ticotin said Critical Mass is a representation of what the band originally tried to accomplish musically:

Critical Mass represents what we the band feel Ra originally set out to be, intensity with a bit more musical adventure than you might expect from a radio rock band. We feel good about the range of expression and the respect we at times were able to show to what we believe are some of metal’s roots. There is very little compromise on this record. Even on the more lighthearted songs. I’m very satisfied.

Crank up 'Supermegadubstep' and let us know if you're satisfied as well.
