Considering the fact that it took them a month and half to hit this mark with the PS3, this is something to brag about.

The bar has now been set by Sony for this Friday. The PlayStation 4 hit store shelves last week and in 24 hours they sold one million units. The Xbox One is set to come out this Friday and I think that if they do not sell one million units in 24 hours, that gives Sony round one won.

"PS4 was designed with an unwavering commitment to gamers, and we are thrilled that consumer reaction has been so phenomenal," said Andrew House, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. "Sales remain very strong in North America, and we expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29. We are extremely grateful for the passion of PlayStation fans and thank them for their continued support."

Now here is what I learned today, the console does not come out in Japan until February. I thought that since they were a Japanese based company the console came out in Japan first. Apparently they do not have a good lineup for launch for the Asian demographic. So that is why they do not get the console for a few more months. America!
