In preparation for their upcoming album, The Connection, Papa Roach has released part 1 of behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the album. The video has band interviews, concert and video footage, and shots of Jacoby Shaddix entering the hospital.

Shaddix underwent surgery on his vocal cords recently to remove nodes that had formed. Prior to the surgery, he tried other therapy in the hopes that they would go away on their own, but ultimately he had to go under the knife. Those same problems also forced the band off the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Tour.

As for recovery, Shaddix recently posted on his Facebook wall, “Things are lookin good!!! The doctor says my vocal cords look like they are healing very well. So happy so blessed so grateful."

The Connection will hit stores October 2nd.
