February 16, 2012 Mardi Gras, which is French for Fat Tuesday, is coming to a close next Tuesday. It’s a season that lasts from January 6th of each year until the day before Lent, and is celebrated by partying like rock stars up until Ash Wednesday
The fourth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards are set to invade Los Angeles on April 11, with Marilyn Manson on deck to perform his first show in almost three years at the event. Other performers include Slash, Evanescence, Sixx: A.M. and Black Veil Brides. Further additions to the line up will be announced in the coming weeks.
Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor recently worked with Foo Fighters frontman / ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl on his secret side-project, as well as an upcoming music documentary. Grohl’s new project is being recorded on the subject of the upcoming documentary — the famous mixing board that used to reside at Sound City Studios, where Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ and Slipknot’s ‘Iowa’ were both recorded.
Slipknot’s “Clown” is making his acting debut in a new movie called “The Devil’s Carnival.” So far all we have is this trailer which is nothing more than this hot chick walking around a carnival scene, but you get some great shots of her butt.

The RockStar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest will be announced tomorrow, so who’s on the bill? It seems to be everyone’s guess that the headliner will be Slipknot (coming back for the 5th anniversary). Friday evening (Jan. 20), Metallica were the talk of the town in Los Angeles as they were on hand for the invitation only unveiling of the art exhibit Obey Your Master. The highly anticipated exhibition featured an array of famed artists who have interpreted various songs from the band in a unique fashion.
It’s understandable if you think you know a lot about Corey Taylor. After all, the media often trumpets his outspoken comments, including those about other artists. Yet, the frontman of Slipknot and Stone Sour is much more complex than the headlines would portray.
Corey Taylor had one hell of a year in 2011. Slipknot returned to the stage after the tragic death of bassist Paul Gray and Taylor went on a spoken word/acoustic solo tour and even released the New York Times bestselling book, ‘Seven Deadly Sins.’ In that vein, Taylor has wasted no time in 2012, hyping up the upcoming album from his other band, Stone Sour.
With Black Sabbath reuniting, Slipknot touring and an upcoming big announcement from Metallica, metal heads can only fantasize about these three massive acts sharing the stage. A new report from Artisan News suggests these bands may get together for a huge massive festival tour in the summer.
The lineup for the second annual DimeBash has been announced. The show is a tribute to the late, great guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott, who tragically was gunned down seven years ago today, Dec. 8, in Ohio while doing what he loved most: playing guitar. He was performing with his post-Pantera band Damageplan when a disturbed fan opened fire at close range and shot him.
Legendary producer Rick Rubin is known for his work on massively successful releases from the likes of Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Linkin Park, but Corey Taylor, whose Slipknot recorded their 2004 album ‘Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses)’ with Rubin, doesn’t exactly have a glowing review of the experience.
Ex-Black Flag and Rollins Band frontman Henry Rollins has recruited Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and members of Rob Zombie‘s band, including guitarist John 5, for a benefit concert Nov. 30 at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood, Calif.
