Poor dog was a member of the team and sad to hear his partner just forgot about him.

Officers are called to the scenes of people leaving babies or animals in hot cars during the summer. You would think an actual cop would not do something like this, especially when it's his job to take care of the animal at the station. Bak the German Shepard's last call was on August 3rd to sniff for suspicious drugs.

That night his partner Michael Peck returned home after that call, but left Bak in the vehicle. Michael didn't get back in the vehicle until a day and a half later. Authorities provided no explanation as to why Peck left the dog in his cruiser. Peck has since been fired and is being charged with animal cruelty.

A vet said the dog was healthy and could have easily survived the night. When temperatures reached almost one hundred degrees the next day, the dog didn't stand a chance. “We were shocked, and we’re saddened,” Stephens County Sheriff Wayne McKinney told NewsChannel 4. “This is a loss of one of our deputies.”
