A man in Chickasha, Oklahoma decided to play chicken with a motorcycle earlier in the week. Speed demon and trouble maker, Michael Coppedge was running from the police on his motorcycle, supposedly because he didn’t have a license or insurance to be driving in the first place.

Floyd Briggs, our local hero, saw the bike weaving through streets and alleys full of traffic and people, and thought "I gotta stop this guy before he hurts a little kid." Good thinking, Floyd.

Briggs saw the motorcyclist coming and ran into the middle of the street causing him to swerve, lose control of the bike and crash. As the driver recovered and continued to run, Briggs didn’t skip a beat as he chased the man on foot, herding him right into the police, which resulted in his immediate arrest.

Coppedge is being charged with eluding a police officer and leaving the scene of an accident.

No one was seriously injured in the chase, but Briggs did admit to using some foul language in the heat of all the excitement and apologized for getting so worked up. "…that just isn’t how I talk."

We’ll forgive you Floyd, but next time you decide to help keep the community safe, make sure you watch your mouth!
