Rumors have begun to circulate that our beloved hockey team may be packing it in after this season but the team immediately took to Facebook to address the issue:

ATTENTION FANS: We have received a couple of phone calls today from concerned fans stating they had heard the team is not returning next season. Any rumors you have heard about this are PATENTLY FALSE. The Wildcats ARE returning for the 2012-13 season. Team Owner Roy Davoult is excited about the positive energy being brought at this late point in the season and the organization as a whole is looking forward to starting on a successful season to come. So wherever these rumors are coming from, they need to stop now. The Wildcats are going nowhere (except back to the Playoffs in 2013).

I don't know if it's indicative of the entire season but the attendance was pretty poor at the games I went to and that combined with the fact that it's been a rough season for the Cats (they're 20-34-5 and are next to last in the division) and you can see where these kinds of rumors get started. Regardless, it's good to see that Roy is committed to giving the hockey fans in Wichita Falls what they want.

But there's still a chance to end the season on a high note when the Odessa Jackalopes come to town this Friday for the final game of the year. It's "Pack the House Night" so go ahead and get your free tickets now. You can get up to four at the box office, but if you need more call the Wildcats at 716-5587.
