Nine Inch Nails main man Trent Reznor and collaborator Atticus Ross won an Academy Award for their score for The Social Network on Sunday night (February 27th).

It was nice to see such an influential rock icon walk onstage to accept an Oscar.

In hes acceptance speech, Reznor said,

"Wow. Is this really       happening? ... When we finished work on The Social Network, we were very proud of our work and happy to just be involved in this film, and to be standing up here in this company is humbling and flattering beyond words."

Reznor later said backstage,

"A side of my music with Nine Inch Nails was going instrumental so it was not a huge leap or stretch to try (scoring a movie) . . . It was one of the best experiences of my life from start to finish."
