Metallica have offered a sneak-peek into the writing process for "Plow", the song that would eventually become "Moth Into Flame."

With all the studio updates, live clips and "making of" videos circulating the internet, you would think I'd be numb to it all, but you'd be wrong, I still geek out on the instant gratification we all receive thanks to the ol' interwebs.

(Using my best old man voice) Back in my day, you had to wait a year or two before you could get a peak behind the curtain at a band writing music -- if at all.

Seriously, I can't tell you how many times me and my buddies sat around and watched A Year and a Half In the Life of Metallica back in the 90's. Not only were we all big fans of the band, but we were also aspiring musicians, so to see the inner-workings of one of the biggest bands on the planet gave us a little perspective into the industry.

So yeah - it's nice to be able to get a little insight into Hardwired...To Self-Destruct before the record arrives. Metallica's tenth studio album is out November 18th via the band's own Blackened Records.
