In between their Soundwave Festival performances in February and March, System of a Down also played a few headlining shows in Australia. The recent show on Feb. 29 in Melbourne at the Rod Laver Arena turned into a star-studded event.

For the song ‘Suite-Pee’ Serj Tankian welcomed Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison to the stage to play. Jordison happened to be in Australia at the same time for the Soundwave Festival shows as well. System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan took over back up vocals for the tune before diving into the crowd at the end for some up close and personal action.

During ‘Aerials’ the band was joined by special guest Ben Weinman of The Dillinger Escape Plan. View fan filmed footage of both guest appearances below.

System of a Down have one more Soundwave Festival show to go on March 5 in Perth, Australia. With any luck, these new shows will inspire the band to get to work on that long awaited new disc!
