McDonald's beloved Shamrock Shake is back, and this year it brought friends!

The original Shamrock shake is easily one of the most popular seasonal menu items McDonald's has to offer, and for years savvy customers would request that the minty soft-serve be blended with a chocolate shake. Now, for the first time ever, the "secret" Chocolate Shamrock Shake along with four other Shamrock inspired beverages are officially on the menu -- for a limited time, of course.

This year's new Shamrock Chocolate Madness lineup includes the following:

Original Shamrock Shake
A blend of vanilla soft serve and mint-flavored Shamrock Shake syrup topped with whipped cream,  a sprinkle of green sugar crystals and a maraschino cherry.

NEW Chocolate Shamrock Shake
A layered shake with chocolate shake on the bottom and Shamrock Shake on top. It's topped with whipped topping, green sugar crystals.

NEW Shamrock Chocolate Chip Frappe
A Chocolate Chip Frappe blended with Shamrock Shake syrup and topped with whipped cream, green sugar crystals, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.

NEW Shamrock Hot Chocolate
A hot chocolate with the mint Shamrock Shake syrup.

NEW Shamrock Mocha
A mocha with Shamrock Shake syrup.

The new Irish-themed drink lineup is scheduled to roll out nationwide February 7th, but we did some calling around and McDonald's employees confirmed that all stand-alone locations in Wichita Falls do in fact have the new Chocolate Shamrock drinks available right now. The McDonald's inside Walmart on Lawrence is the only location that does not offer the new beverages.

I decided to do a little on-site research and ran down the street to the Mcdonald's on Kemp St. and picked up an actual Chocolate Shamrock Shake. As expected, it was absolutely delectable, all 610 calories of it.

When they handed me the minty, chocolaty, treat, the first thing I noticed is it did not have the distinct separation of chocolate and Shamrock as shown in the picture above. But that's probably a good thing, otherwise you would just taste the chocolate and mint separately, which would completely defeat the purpose of the chocolate-mint match made in heaven.
