Man Drowns at Private Pool Party in Wichita Falls

A man died of drowning Friday afternoon in south Wichita Falls.  Fire and police were called to a home in the 4400 block of Phillips at around 4pm.  When first responders arrived they found a man unresponsive.

49 year-old Gilbert Contreas was pronounced dead a short time later at United Regional.  Police say that Contreas was with a group of people at the time of the incident.  Police believe the drowning to be accidental, but alcohol may have played a roll.  The investigation is ongoing.
