Low Clearance Bridge Destroys Trucks [VIDEO]
We see the low clearance signs all the time, but some truckers decide to ignore them. These truckers should have listened.
It happens about once a month. A trucker in a hurry or a full-of-himself tourist in an outsized motor coach ignores the flashing lights and "Low Clearance" signs at the Gregson Street train trestle in Durham, N.C, and — wham! — another big rig becomes a convertible.
The Norfolk Southern Railroad's overpass, built 100 years ago, leaves just 11 feet, 8 inches for drivers to squeeze underneath, and has been performing regular haircuts on too-tall vehicles ever since. Jürgen Henn documents the damage on his website 11foot8.com, and the cumulative effect in this compilation video is downright mesmerizing.
