Just when I thought I couldn't possibly like Lord Dying anymore than I already do, they release an early contender for "Video of the Year" with "Poisoned Altars".

As an 80's kid, there's a part of me that is a little let down when a band releases your standard dudes-rocking-in-the-abandoned-warehouse video. I understand that budgets don't always allow for more intricate videos, but bands can still be creative and have a little fun with their videos - regardless of budget constraints.

My guess is that Relapse Records doesn't have a ton of money to invest in videos. Therefore, the clip for Lord Dying's "Poisoned Altars" is a prime example of how to make a killer video without breaking the bank.

The video, co-directed by Danger Ehren of "Jackass" along with Brett Roberts, follows the guys as they attempt to stop the spread of flesh-eating Yuppies in their hometown of Portland, Oregon before ultimately knocking down skyscrapers with sheer volume.

"Poisoned Altars" is the title track to Lord Dying's new album, out now on Relapse Records.
