Last Orca to be Born in SeaWorld Captivity Will Happen in San Antonio in a Few Weeks
The controversial orca breeding program is coming to an end and the final birth will happen in Texas.
SeaWorld has been trying to change its image the past few years. The company has made a lot of changes to help the animals that are at their parks. One of them being the Orca breeding program. Which came to an end this past March. Takara who resides in the San Antonio park was pregnant at the time of the termination of the breeding program.
Takara is expecting her baby in the next six weeks. SeaWorld actually doesn't know who the father is of the child. They will do a blood test after the baby is born to confirm. They have it narrowed down to two males at the park. Veterinarians believe Kyuquot, one of the male orcas at SeaWorld San Antonio, is “very likely” the father.
