Late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain remains one of modern rock's most influential and admired figures even 20 years after his death. Cobain's discography and captivating presence has led to a "cult of personality" that's truly timeless, which has, for better or worse, led to the production of shirts pressed with the frontman's suicide note.

There's a fine line between art and exploitation. Judgement is up to the individual, but there's no denying that for many, this just doesn't feel right -- perhaps similar to when Cobain's private journals were published.

Through Etsy, tank tops and baseball tees printed with Cobain's widely-publicized suicide note were being sold. The note takes up the entirety of the shirt's front, obviously acting as its center of attention. After complaints were filed to Etsy, they removed the Cobain shirts from their popular Internet marketplace.

The shirts also became available via eBay for $25.19 from a seller called Nuchyk, but it seems like the shirts have since been removed from that site as well. However, according to Diffuser.fm, 16 people had bought the suicide note tops.

What do you think? Are the shirts in poor taste? Let us know in the comments section.
