Megadeth are getting ready to unleash their fourteenth album, Super Collider and bassist Dave Ellefson took a few minutes to talk to me about the new album and more on the 4/27 edition of The Oath.

To say it was a momentous occasion for me would be an understatement of epic proportions. You see, I grew up worshiping Thrash Metal (hence the on-air name) and while there are plenty of great Thrash bands, Megadeth along with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax (aka the Big Four) are the gold standard.

Thinking back to the mid to late 80's in what will always be considered the heyday of Thrash, Megadeth's Peace Sells...but Who's Buying had an impact on me as profound as Metallica's Master of Puppets and Slayer's Reign in Blood and just like those albums, is still a regular listen around my house.

While the new stuff from the aforementioned bands doesn't resonate with me quite as much as their older stuff, I still dig it and am in line to pick up every one of their new releases the day they come out. So you know where I'll be on June 4 when Super Collider arrives.
