‘I Just Wanted to Rock a Little More': Devin Townsend Takes the Oath [AUDIO]

One thing I was certain of while I prepared to interview Devin Townsend was that our conversation would be anything but boring and the man more than delivered when we got together for last Saturday's (9/8) edition of The Oath.

I've always considered Devin Townsend to be the mad scientist of metal. Seriously, you never know what the man is going to produce when he goes into his laboratory that is the studio and so many of his loyal followers are on the edge of their seat, anticipating the next stroke of genius to come their way.

Devin Townsend Project's latest offering Epicloud is every bit as epic as the title would suggest, with his typical "wall of sound" production style, catchy choruses and riffing that is as tight as a radio station general manager's wallet. And while pretty much everything I've ever heard from Devin is fun to listen to, Epicloud takes the fun aspect of his songwriting to another level and it sounds like one of those records that kind of wrote itself.
