How to Talk to Your Kids About Michael Sam

Last Saturday the St. Louis Rams made history by drafting the first openly gay football player, 24-year-old Michael Sam, which is great, but how do you explain that to your kids?

While this is a major step forward in equal rights and what not, some people have concerns about allowing an openly gay football player, although most of their concerns are complete nonsense when you think about the real trouble so many NFL players get into.

Is being gay as bad as attempted murder, rape, robbery or a laundry list of various other crimes? I don't think so.

I'm all for Michael Sam. Way to be who you are no matter what people think.
